Pablo Escobar was a Colombian drug lord and the commander of the Medelln Cartel, one of the world's most powerful and dangerous criminal organizations in the 1970s and 1980s. The story of Pablo Escobar has been the subject of several books, movies, and TV shows, the most popular of which is the Netflix original series "Narcos," which tells the story of the rise and fall of the Medellin Cartel, with Escobar as the main character, and depicts the Medellin Cartel's actions and how it was pursued by the DEA and the Colombian government. The series was critically acclaimed and ran for three seasons.
